The development of code name “Project Natal”, a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” for the Xbox 360 console was announced by Microsoft on June 1st at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. This Xbox 360 peripheral allows for users to completely control and even play without the need for any game controller at all. The unit’s sensor is able to accurately recognize and interpret hand signals, gestures, voice commands, and even inanimate objects or pictures. Although Microsoft has not yet announced any official release date or estimated price, the system is expected to hit the market sometime late 2010.
